Second Generation Sex Link questions

I've already asked this once but the more information I read the more I want to know! I saw a post about 3rd generation Isa Browns being White and sweet and 3rd generation BSL chickens being a form of barred and not very nice but I want to know if anybody's crossed the two? I have one Isa Brown Rooster that I'm sure was never meant to make it to the pullets bin I got him out of at the store, 5 Isa Brown hens and 5 BLS hens. Now what would do you think the results be if I incubated an egg from each of the 10 hens? And after that what if I were to breed one of the roosters to the any of the hens from that batch? Has anybody done this? If you have what was your results? I understand it would be inbreeding do to them sharing the same father so I'm just using this as a metaphorical example. If I were to ever be lucky enough to find another sex link Roo I'd buy him and conduct my own experiment but until that day please send me some pictures! Isa X BSL, IsaxBSL X IsaxBSL, Isa X Isa, IsaxIsa X IsaxIsa. And any others I missed!

I would just name them Mixed-----even a BSL is mixed----but who knows what you might come up with?
Being your rooster was a "mistake" in the pullet bin---I am like this---I like to "play" cross breed a little, but I want to make sure my starting breeders are as Pure as can be----it takes a long tome to cross/hatch/cross again/etc and I sure would Not want to start off wrong and create a breed that I can not duplicate.

I've thought about that and honestly he's not the only one I've seen in pullet bins, I just wasn't in a place to buy more. I live within a half hour of 4 TSCs and 1 Farm and Home store and seen a few in different ISA Brown bins this year alone and I'm pretty sure I'll find the same next year which is why I would like to know the outcome before doing any major breeding. You said you do crosses though so what kind do you do? I'm interested in just about any cross with any breeds I just only posted what I currently have

It's not inbreeding per say. There is a lot of negative connotations with that word and shouldn't be. There is a lot of good to be achieved with close relation breeding. There is potential for faults too but with backyard mixed birds like you have those faults don't matter. Potential for faults depends on the line of birds and genetic makeup in them. Things like side springs on combs or cooked toes can pop up. Can be selectively bred back out too. What I'm saying is there is nothing to fear breeding brothers to sisters or to mothers and any other pairing. Your birds at best are half brother/sisters and likely not even that closely related.

Click the "show examples" tab and there are a lot of color, breed and few crosses to select from. The ISA Brown hybrid is an option. For Black sex links you need to make one then select it for hen or cock bird. To make a Black Sex Link use RIR cock over Barred Hen then click the resulting hen to use as mother for next cross then use the ISA Brown cock bird and "calculate cross".

You have a bovan brown cock? If so then red sexlink bred together would have a wide range of color expression.
