    Khaki Campbell/ blue swedish mix

    Just wanted to show off this pretty girl. She's about 6 weeks old, and I'm fairly certain that she's a blue swedish/ kc cross. Most of the other ducklings we hatched in April have gone on to a new home, but i had to keep her (and a couple others) with me.

    How terrible, I'm sorry! We think either a fox or a coyote grabbed our 3rd KC boy a couple months ago. I guess my neighbor found his head in his back yard. I'm sure he was super happy about that :oops:

    I got my blue swedes at a farm supply store and was told they were mallards. Discovered pretty quickly that they weren't. I have some blue swedish/khaki Campbell (or possibly pekin) mixed ducklings right now.

    Little guy (or gal) managed to make it out. Smaller and weaker than the others, and having trouble balancing. But he's sure made a lot of progress since yesterday. Took a little dip in the tub tonight :love

    He's still in limbo. Hubs tried to help it out yesterday and said there was still some yolk left, so the poor little guy just isn't ready yet. He's currently wrapped in some damp cheesecloth still partially in the shell. As of now he's still moving around, so we'll take another look later on...
