    The scales on my 1 year old aracuana cross hen have lifted--it looks like scaly leg mites but only one leg. Does anyone know what this is? None of my other hens are affected. First two pictures are of the lifted scales, second two are of the normal foot.

    Thank you! I realised after doing some research this was probably the case. I also found that it was reccomended to vaccinate the unaffected birds, do you agree with this? They are also 11 months old.

    Oh okay, thank you! I'll look out for signs of the other things you mentioned but not do anything for now. Looking into the depluming mites, they dont seem uncomfortable and have lots of places to dustbathe, so I think you're right about moulting.

    Swollen white-yellow lump on hen's toe. What is it?

    One of my hens has a small swelling on her toe. It appears to be at the toe joint but is to the side. There is no visible scratch or scab, and the rest of her feet look fine. She doesn't seem to be in pain and it feels normal temperature to me. Shes 8 months old and currently in a broody box...
