wow, they dont run from you when you put them down to clean brooder? Or when you try picking them up to put the out of the brooder? Great!!!
Wow, Amazing. So I make sure they get some swim time every afternoon before dusk and they love it. They are starting to eat a little grass out of my hands but it takes A LOT for them to try and get near me. I think the transition from brooder to pond is effecting them. I tell you what I do is go...
I was just told not to put them in water because of the oil from their feathers. They told me that the momma was the one that provided oil for their fluff. I believe I am talking to wrong people lol! Is there some truth to this? Or does the oil just help them float? How much water should I put...
Great stuff! Thanks yall I will give it a whirl. I gave them some treats again last night and they did get a little closer to me but darted off still. I will keep trying.
Yea, the guy gave me a bag of Powder stuff to put in their water. When I go home I will look to see if thats what it is. When you take your lings to the tub do you do it a certain way or just put all in an open box or what? Just dont wanna scare them anymore than they are.
Whoa whoa whoa, what the heck are you talking about? I bought all Hens so I was unaware you had to check them!? So how you do this and why do you do this? Whats it matter if all males?
At first approach I start talking before they see me, then I start to whistle and still talk while I am opening up brooder but just as soon as I put my hand in they scatter to corner.

Honestly I have NO IDEA what they are. Gotta admit they are cute lil things
Couple questions
1. Do they need hear lamp during summer? I'm in south carolina
2. Should they get a little closer to me before i force them in water? Not really force them but you get me.
3. When should I let them out...
You know I'm still really new to the whole poultry thing. My chickens are doing GREAT laying enty eggs and genuinely look happy. I now was givin 4 ducklings and have no clue what I'm doing. I have put all 4 in old Chicken brooder and feeding and keeping clean water but they are absolutely scared...
