    gotcha. and yes, BCMs lay very dark, coppery eggs. most have darker speckles. they're quite the addition to an egg basket!

    well, sort of. as the hen ages, the overall size of the eggs increases, but the amount on pigment deposited on the shell stays the same - meaning that the eggs' color will appear ever so slightly lighter in color. same idea!

    hey there! personally, i love having a wide color variety of eggs, as i'm sure you do! two of my favorite breeds for colored eggs are olive eggers (they lay a deep green egg as the name implies) and black copper marans (they lay a rich, dark copper colored egg - also as the name implies!)...
