    Broody Magpie

I recently adopted some magpie ducks to add to our flock- one has gone broody and I'm inclined to let her hatch her own eggs but don't have experience with this. Is there anything I need to know? Will the other ducks bother her or the ducklings? Tia

    Pet Rabbits in Barn?

The bunnies seem to love living with the ducks- they are so much more active and attentive. Must be more interesting than just watching the washing machine cycles! Thanks for the advice!

Looking for female ducks to adopt

We have a small farm in rural Parker Colorado (animals are just pets) and we'd like to add some more ducks- we currently have an adult female and male pekin. Doesn't matter what breed or age but prefer females to prevent males from fighting. Please let me know if you have any available. Thanks!

    Pet Rabbits in Barn?

I have two pet rabbits that currently live in a large 2 story cage in our basement. I would LOVE to move the cage to a barn on our property but I'm worried might get to hot in the summer. There are a lot of wild rabbits who live in the barn but I assume they burrow in the heat. Anyone have...

    Injured Duck Question

Very sad to report that Trudy died today. She seemed pretty good this morning so it was a horrible surprise to find her this afternoon- she was a very sweet girl and I'm so sad- Rest in Peace Trudy

    Injured Duck Question

Trudy is still hanging in there. Isolation seems to be helping. I gave her eye another saline rinse and am just letting her rest. Thank you everyone for the advice and positive words- she's a tough old girl and hopefully will keep getting better. Also- we found where she was escaping from and...

    Injured Duck Question

Trudy is up and at em again today- her eye was foamy white so I gave her another saline rinse and it's clear again for now. I'm keeping her isolated from the others so she'll hopefully rest and not be mated on. as long as she keeps on trying I'll do everything I can for her- really hope we...

    Injured Duck Question

Unfortunately she doesn't seem to be doing so well. Her posture was unnatural this afternoon- like she was too upright, and she had less energy. I rinsed her eye again and isolated her from the other ducks- I got concerned maybe the drake was mating with her which could hurt her worse. I hope...

    Injured Duck Question

Found a recipe for saline and gave her eye a good rinse- she continues to improve so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Her drake is super protective and has started 'attacking' me, good that she has a protecter but a pain for me

    Injured Duck Question

This morning the eye is looking infected- no longer white but glossy with drainage. What ratio saline do you mix or do you buy it premixed?

    Injured Duck Question

I did some research- I'm thinking it could be the nictating membrane- I hope it's not a sign of her condition worsening from internal injury or something- she ate and drank today and was walking around, hoping for the best, thank you for the information

    Injured Duck Question

Other eye is fine- water bowl is 1.5ft deep, just put fresh water in, and during the day she has access to a small pond

    Injured Duck Question

I think the entire eye is white- can't see any color behind it and it seems like she can't see out of it

    Injured Duck Question

My dear sweet Rouen was attacked by a dog when she escaped the pasture- the dog mouthed her pretty good but wasn't really trying to kill her (I don't think). Not much bleeding but she does have a puncture to her chest. I kept her inside for the night and the next day she seemed much better so I...
