    I am building what is basically a chicken run, but this one is to keep vegetables in and everybody else out! My chickens, dog, rabbits, etc. But will regular, standard size chicken wire keep out wild birds like house finches and house sparrows?

    Rooster crowing middle of the night

    No there is no light on in the coop at night. I read somewhere that you may be able to fool the rooster by leaving a light on in the coop until later in the evening. This somehow alters the roosters internal clock and makes them less likely to crow until morning.

    He is less than a year old. The coop has screened "windows" in it. I wonder if I made plywood shutters to close at night if that might settle him down a bit?

    Greetings all, I currently have my young chickens in a coop that connects to a chicken run that also connects to a much larger grazing pen. Currently, they are too small to be out in the larger grazing pen. I would like to get some vegetables established in the grazing pen before the chickens...
