    Who has cheap auto insurance??

I have Farmers. I pay $40 a month for a 20 yr old minivan with the standard liability coverage PLUS towing AND uninsured motorist.

Anyone have Buff Geese? Thinking of getting some.

Thanks! That's what I've heard. I was thinking of penning them separately in an open area where I'm going to plant some fruit trees.

Anyone have Buff Geese? Thinking of getting some.

Thanks! I've raised waterfowl (ducks) and chickens. Sounds like the A frame would be simple enough to build, and could put it on skids to move it around. We do have the occasional eagle and some HUGE red-tailed hawks. I'll have to think about some simple shelter in that open area maybe. I think...

Is this a roo or a pullet?

She was NOT following that rule "perfectly." And she was not "simply explaining," she was dismissive and rude. Look, we all have only our OPINION and GUESTIMATE to what the breed is. My opinion is no more or less than hers or anyone else's. There was no reason for her to be abrupt. I haven't...

Anyone have Buff Geese? Thinking of getting some.

Help me to identify my barnyard mix?

The chicken on the right in my icon here is a Cream Legbar. Yours looks like some sort of mix.

Is this a roo or a pullet?

Looks like a Silver Spangled Hamburg. Maybe a pullet because the comb and wattles aren't very red.

    Favorite type of chicken

Buckeyes, for sure! They're docile and very people-friendly. They will follow you around like puppies to see what you're doing.

    Too much veggies and fruits?

Check to see what the bag says. Usually crumble is a layer feed, and yours are too young for that (too much calcium in the feed). Keep them on chick feed until they start laying, then you can switch to layer feed. Another alternative is to feed "all flock" and supplement oyster shell on the side...

    Sources of xanthophyll?

I boil mine a bit. They really don't like them overdone (slimy). You could just chop them up raw. They'll eat the seeds, too, but I chop up the stringy part because they can choke on that.
