    Mine use to eat them but the ants start bitting and they didnt like that. So now they dont bother with them.

    My chicken has been sitting on eggs for 3 days and today at noon she was still sitting on them but i just got home from work at 6 and she was sitting on a different nest box.     When should I introduce nesting boxes?

    They are supposed to start laying at 18weeks I put mine in at about 15 weeks. I hung mine on the wall but i read about people putting theirs on the floor so i dont think it matters.

    My egg shells are very thick and hard to crack. I'm not feeding them calcium or I would take that out of there diet, all I'm feeding them is laying pellets and scratch once or twice a day. How do I make my shells thinner so it is easier to crack?

    My first egg came when they were 19weeks and one day. I believe its my cuckoo maran that layed the egg. It ranked peewee but not to worry im sure they will get bigger.

    Mine haven't started laying yet but just to make sure they dont lay in the bushes and learn bad behaviors i keep them locked up till about noon then let them out to free range.
