    Dislocation vs fracture

    I've tried to save gals w breaks and it is difficult I've ended up just putting them down. I made a sling-like contraption using a clothes basket (or like those toddler boingey things) to keep her weight off her leg but she ended up trying to get out of that and then dislocated her wing.     lost a brown leghorn hen & 4 chicks to a snake (warning, dead hen pix)

    I have two apple trees in my chicken yard from Stark Brothers so the deer can't get them. The chickens love to get up in the trees too but that's okay, they love the apples too.

    I try to re-home them and if can't, then they are processed for food either by me or someone I give them away to. Sad part of hatching your own eggs.
