I understand how you feel, my Wyandotte ,Silver-laced is 24 weeks and haven't started laying. To make matters even worse, I have mixed breed that I hatched 1 1/2 year ago they have even stop laying....total of 10 hens and one egg a day!!!!
There can be several things that can be wrong.......temp. make sure the chicks are not too hot or cold...........I was told sugar water boost their energy when first hatch. I don't know if that will work now that it is 3 days old. Have u had anyother to die?
Pinky I was thinking about clipping his claws but I thought maybe that would make it worse being that I may leave snags. My rooster will be one year old next month. Saddle sound the right way for me to go.
to terrilhb it is bad to me because I love my hens as well as my rooster. I will post pictures tomorrow. @ speedy2020 I will not consider replacing my rooster I have experienced bad rooster be4 and he is far from it. He is only doing his job only a little aggressive.
I would post a picture but my hens will not stay still long enough I will try again tomorrow. 2 of my hens feathers are gone because the rooster. It is where the roster is roosting and his claws are in the exact spot where the feathers are missing. what can I do?
He sounds like a stubborn rooster!!! Sorry to say this but a friend of mine had the same problem-couldn't catch her rooster, after a couple weeks later the rooster would hide and jump out with full force to attack. Now I call that the mean roosters! I have heard some stories on mean roosters and...
Roosters will attack kids that age. My daughter is 5 years old and my rooster better not dare try it!! However when she get close to him he does his lil dance and have chase her in the yard but not attacking her. Now as for you.......hummm I was told to hold them for 30 min. I have not had that...
I'm dealing with the exact same thing. I wasn't prepared for this at all!! I worry so much about my chicks, they are only 9 wk old. and they are inside a box like with a light. It continue to blow so I'm thinking that it's may be a fire hazard. (the light) so I just don't know what to do.
thank you all for your recommendations. I do think the light blowing my be a fire hazard that is y I think I want to go ahead and placed them in the chicken coop. I will keep you all inform on my decision. Thanks again!
I live in Eastern NC and the temp is droping in the lower 20's. I didn't have any problem with the temp until now. My 9 wks old chick/chickens are in a box with a light. Well the light keep blowing for some reason. So my ? is, do you think they can survive if I place them in the coop without...
