Fabulous - I actually have some cracked corn cooking on the stove right now - yes, your suggestion to make sure it is cool is good - I think I will put the pot in the snow to cool down, give the girls some this morning and evening too - happy soltice!
Finally we got snow in the northern woods- in a big way!
My girls will not even come out of the coop - I would like to prepare a hot treat for them - any ideas? Cook up their cracked corn?

this has been such a fun resource to use, have had my girls for about a month and been making a few adjustments.
Just added a thicker roost per someone's suggestions here - seems like when I was researching specs on building my coop, I never came across a recommendation for width of the roost...

Thanks! She laid a small egg which has a bit of dent at the pointy end, she still has not left coop but is a bit perkier, will get some oyster shell to see if that helps, no other symptoms evident that you mentioned
