    I have 19 barred rock eggs due to hatch today. Well 18 because one hatched last night. I just took a peek and I have 4 pips and 2 zips! Pics coming soon.

    Yes, we have a mirror in there. I have 19 barred rock due to hatch tomorrow so hopefully she'll have some company soon.

    She is doing great today! She looks 110% and her feet are doing great!

    Not a problem at all I just love this silkie breed. The one foot already looks better, she/he is about 14 hours old now.

    Well it's suppose to be a black silkie, that's what I paid for anyway. I got 9 eggs from a BYC member.

    I woke up this morning and she was laying in the bator! My only concern is it looks like the outside toes go under the foot. Is it because she has just hatched?

    It's also a silkie egg, it is one of 2 that the air sac is at the small end. I think they stopped at day 17 but I am giving them the benefit of doubt.

    Sending Good HAtching Vibes your way! I know what you mean by bad hatching success, I am currently 0/16, 1/36, and I have 1 pipping out of 9 eggs.

    Day 22, 1 has pipped finally.

    I am down to only 3 silkies in the hatcher. 2 of these the air cells are on the small end of the egg so I'm not holding my breath on these. The other silkie finally pipped overnight on Day 22 and doesn't appear to be doing anything now. I really don't want to lose this one and will intervene...

    What kind of treats can I give to a 2 week old chick?

    I was wanting to start giving my chick some treats. Is it too early to start? When should I introduce grit? Thanks!

    Is this chick a pullet or cockerel ?

    I didn't know if it's too early to tell by the trained eyes here at BYC. She/He is a Rhode Island Red, it's my first and only chick I have hatched so far.
