I have 19 barred rock eggs due to hatch today. Well 18 because one hatched last night. I just took a peek and I have 4 pips and 2 zips! Pics coming soon.
I woke up this morning and she was laying in the bator! My only concern is it looks like the outside toes go under the foot. Is it because she has just hatched?
I am down to only 3 silkies in the hatcher. 2 of these the air cells are on the small end of the egg so I'm not holding my breath on these. The other silkie finally pipped overnight on Day 22 and doesn't appear to be doing anything now. I really don't want to lose this one and will intervene...
I didn't know if it's too early to tell by the trained eyes here at BYC. She/He is a Rhode Island Red, it's my first and only chick I have hatched so far.
