I have a hen that's had a runny nose for a few days....we have her isolated, and i was told to give tetacycline. I picked some up from the local co-op, and my wife and i mixed up a gallon. The problem is when we put it in the waterer, after a while it turns purple. Looks like purple koolaid...
My wife said she looked better today, how long should i leave her isolated? All she had was a runny nose, and her right eye seemed to be draining clear fluid too. She never had any wheezing or sneezing like i've seen some people ask about. I'll try the vitamin supplement, thanks for the replies.
This evening i was cleaning out the coop and noticed one of our Australorps had a clear, runny discharge from her nose and eyes. My wife and i isolated her, now we're not sure what to do, these are our first chickens.
