I recently bought pellets and put it in my feeders and was very worried about them eating it. I shouldn't have because they cleaned them up and I didn't wet them at all. I like the pellets, especially for winter, because they don't waste nearly as much compared to crumble.
Last week, my...
We are on our third hatching and I had a question. Last hatch and this hatch the chicks have started hatching at about 19 days. They have all lived and have no defects, but I'm curious if this is common because I've read and been told 21 days?
We keep the incubator between 99-100 and humidity...
So, first an update on my leghorn hen/rooster dilemma. The consensus is she's a he. That's fine, he's very handsome and pretty gentle. I am wondering about the management issues of having a rooster in with four hens.
Not concerned with legal issues, I know what our city ordinances are...
Okay, I tried resizing, but it still comes up as a small thumbnail, so I will take a picture using my real camera (not my 3G-o-sauras Rex) tomorrow and repost a larger picture. Thanks for the comments, though. Stay tuned, new picture coming soon.

Thanks for the advice all. We will begin rehab tomorrow. Good news....today when I let them out, she was walking on her feet...not as good as her siblings, but not like yesterday, so maybe we are on the mend, but I am still going to put her in the hospital for a few days.
Thanks again.
We have six birds. All about five weeks old. We purchased them as day old chicks. All were raised indoors until about a week ago, when I moved them outdoors to their coop. All were healthy, walking, running, eating, drinking....basically being chickens, until today.
One of our RIR hens has...
