    I am a little puzzled… the place I received one set of northern bobwhite quail eggs from said hatch day in 18 days? That doesn’t seem correct. I thought they were a 21 day hatch? Do you think they meant lock down at 18 days? Just want to confirm with others more familiar.

    And we have a baby!!! Hopefully to wake the rest!! Because .. yea.. now a whole new set of worries.. haha 77 percent humidity now… and all others seemed to have noticeable pips as of about 7 am today

    Well .. today is day 26… we have 4 definite pips! And now one zipped!!! And here is where I get nervous!!! I hate when I can see the membrane for a while and just looks dry … humidity is about 70 percent …. Eeeekkkk…. Nervous and excited!!!

    Today is day 24 for me… so hopefully I didn’t screw anything up by pulling out the turner and locking down already. Fingers crossed… they are still on schedule but have seen that many hatching turkeys do so around day 26… so of course I walk by the incubator like a billion times always checking...

    Hope u don’t mind me asking about your midget whites… I have some eggs in the bator currently…. Question… in hopes I have a successful hatch, did u have to keep chicken hatchlings with them to help them know how to eat and drink… or is it enough that u showed them successfully?

    New to turkeys and setting up an area

    I plan to attempt hatching a few turkeys (once I can figure out what type I want)… I will have a coop area off a fenced area. The fence is about 8’ tall. Would making a hot wire at the top keep them from flying over? Or should I plan to clip wings?
