The Easter Egger looks exactly like a couple of my EE pullets. I'd say the jury is out on that one. The silkie could be a pullet too but can't see waddles in the picture
This baby is 10 weeks old and was the free chick that the breeder sent with my order. I have to cull several Roosters and am trying to figure out which ones to keep. If this is a Rooster, I'll definitely keep him and cull a different one instead. He is so chill.
Thanks @lazy gardener that's helpful. I thought about what happens under a broody but didn't know for sure. A couple of the babies are pecking at the pips too. I know that's normal behavior for a chicken but it won't hurt the hatching egg, correct?
This is my first time incubating. I obsessively cleaned the incubator and once the eggs had been rinsed with warm Hydrogen Peroxide, i only handled them with latex gloves. Now 5 babies have hatched with a few pips still to go. I have them on lock down. The babies are all over the incubator...
i have 3 chicks that hatched today. I have 5 eggs with pips. I've not opened my bator. The chicks are pooping on the unhatched eggs. I'm concerned bacteria will get into the eggs. Do I risk lowering humidity to remove the chicks? Or is this normal? Help? My first time at this. Thanks!!
Can anyone tell me if they keep their eggs and eat them while dusting the coop and chickens with Permethrin?
If you don't eat them can they be incubated or is this something that would cause birth defects or infertility in the chicks?
