i have 3 chicks that hatched today. I have 5 eggs with pips. I've not opened my bator. The chicks are pooping on the unhatched eggs. I'm concerned bacteria will get into the eggs. Do I risk lowering humidity to remove the chicks? Or is this normal? Help? My first time at this. Thanks!!

I have no experience hatching, but would suggest you post the question under "incubating and hatching" forum.

The bloom on unwashed eggs is said to protect them from bacteria but, once your chickens pip, bacteria will be able to get in. Definitely post on the hatching threads. You might even post on the Hatch-a-long thread - as many experienced breeders participate there. People shared experiences and help each other when problem arise. Like this one...
