    Cracked Egg! What do I do?

    Glad I found this thread! We just had a hen hatch 3 babies, & have another who's 1st chick is hatching right now. We have had some eggs cracked early & had no idea what we could do. We will be trying the wax or Elmer's glue next time!

    I think that it depends on a couple of things............How high is the dog's "prey drive", & how well trained is the dog. We have a Standard Poodle who doesn't pay our chicks much attention @ all.......& then we have my German Shepherd who is from a working line & has a VERY high prey drive...

    Don't put them down!!!!!! This is a tough situation that you have found yourself in. How long have you been trying to re-home them? I am assuming that since you said they are chained in a fence, they find a way out of the fence alone.......... Try PetFinder.com, your local papers...
