Long Islanders.... I know you are out there

I just have a 75watt ceramic heat "bulb". its not a bulb and can never blow out! Although its meant for reptiles, it does the job fine.

Long Islanders.... I know you are out there

A little out there , but for this big snow storm, should i leave my 5 hens inside or should i shovel and let them "play" in the snow? I know we are supposed to be getting 20 inches or so and this is my first winter with my chickens. Thank You !

Long Islanders.... I know you are out there

Thanks. I will let you know how it works out.. I hope he goes to a good home since he is very sweet. He is only 3 weeks old so he didn't crow yet, but you can very much tell the difference between him and his hens. I would keep him for a couple more weeks until he is feathered out and I can be...

Long Islanders.... I know you are out there

I have one that I just found out was a Rooster. I dont want to send him to a dinner plate. Do you have any suggestions on a place that might take him so he can live happy?

I think one of my chicks is a rooster?

They are Plymouth White Rocks. I couldn't find that much information on the development of them.

Long Island Rooster to good home only!!!

I have a beautiful Plymouth White Rock Rooster up for adoption. To a good home only. No fighting. No eating! He is 3 weeks old as of yesterday, I cannot see him going to a dinner plate. He is a very sweet Roo and does not take control of other chickens. It is illegal to have roosters in my...

Is this a pullet or Rooster?????

Thanks! I thought it was unusual that he isn't growing fast. He eats and drinks normally and isn't nasty in ANY way. He is so good and I feel a rooster wouldn't do that??

Is this a pullet or Rooster?????

My Plymouth White Rocks are currently 3 weeks today. They were all supposed to be hens but I am doubting this one. He is not as big as the other hens and is not really feathered out. He has a way more noticeable comb on his head as well. I read that some breeds have hens with combs but couldn't...

I think one of my chicks is a rooster?

This is the one believed to be a cockerel. The hen is on the left and the believed cockerel is on the right. He is much smaller than the hen. He is not as feathered as the other chicks. Here is his crown which is way bigger than the hens crowns which you can barely see. This is the...

I think one of my chicks is a rooster?

My chickens are currently 3 weeks old today. I noticed one of them is developing slower than the others. He/she is not growing as fast as the others and is not developing many feathers. He has a humungous comb on the top of his head. They were all supposed to be pullets but I am doubting this...
