Hi all, I’m back regarding Cheeseburger. She is not looking good this morning and I am increasingly worried for her. She is more lethargic and is standing like this (head tucked, tail down). Still bright green poop. I’m taking her to a vet tonight when they open at 6. Does anyone have...
She free ranges most of the day, and in the coop everyone ordinarily gets kale, carrot shreds, cracked corn, oyster shells, oats, and dried mealworms. Other things intermittently, but nothing out of the ordinary that would cause this color as far as I know. Her crop was full at bed time, soft...
Hi all! I am back regarding Cheeseburger. I noticed today the spot under where she roosts is covered in very green poop. No other regular roosting spot has this, so it is only her. I am concerned as I’m reading other articles saying their hens died after similar symptoms. What should I do...
Hi all! Hope everyone is well. Hoping to find some answers regarding my sweet hen Cheeseburger. She seems to be having some crop issues, but I can’t decide if it’s impacted/sour/some other mystery thing. It’s fluctuated in size the past few days, but has always been too full too early in the...
Hi all! I am here with good news today. Cujo has been acting much more her old self lately! She is back to spending the day foraging instead of sitting under the bush. She is walking around with her sisters and roo, taking baths, and sunbathing. Not a clue what made the difference or what...
Back again lol. Cujo is still acting strangely and I’m beginning to doubt she’s sick at all. I’m worried she may just be outcast and sad. She’s always been a bit ostracized from the group due to being much smaller, but it has never stopped her too much. I fear the bullying might have ramped...
No eggs atm, the whole flock is on their winter break of sorts. I’ll give her belly a feel in the morning. TLC is the plan right now; electrolytes, watermelon, and time to be alone
I will give a fecal float a try 👍 none of the flock are laying atm due to the cold weather. They are such babies! XD she has never had laying issues in the past besides nasty broodiness
Eyes are normal, she was just in some direct sunlight a moment before. Just went out to check to be sure lol. The lesion on the side appears to be a pox scab, no open wound I can see. No other symptoms, just very lethargic and not a big appetite
It’s day 3 of lethargic Cujo and I’m beginning to wonder if she’s caught fowl pox. She is 3 years old and most likely unvaccinated. She’s not inclined to do much other than lay under the bush all day, hardly even stepping over a 2” pvc pipe in her way. She will eat if you bring it to her...
Coming up on 3 years old, no past issue with laying other than nasty broodiness. None of the others seems to be having issues. She is moving much slower today, walked out of the coop (usually flies like a bat out of hell) and just went to lie down under a bush :(
Hi all, long time no see! Stopping by to ask a question as usual.
I was sitting with my flock today and my dear frizzle friend Cujo seems to be a bit under the weather. A little slower than usual, more inclined to just stand around, sat on my leg for quite a long time (and pooped on me. Not...
