Hi all I brought these ladies from a local poultry club and they were listed as mixed breed but I was wondering if anyone would know what they might be a mix of?
Thanks
:( bugger! Gotta stop believing people when they sell me chooks lol!
It's a very flat comb I figured it was just cause she's young and hasn't grown yet
She lays tiny little brown eggs
Hi all I brought this hen as a pullet 7 months ago but she was meant to be a Plymouth Rock.... She's stopped growing and has gone broody anyone know what she might be??
I put mine in their run and coop at night sometimes (very rare) they stay in most if the day if I've had to go out before dawn, but the room is plenty enough for the to scratch and sunbake and walk around mine is probably 10 meters long so if yours is anything like mine they should e happy enough (:
I wanted to say thank you to everyone for their advice with speckles
Her legs scales are now as smooth as anything and I found out she is a baby pullet she started laying 3 days ago tiny little cute eggs
Thank you <3
Good news!!! I went to a different stock feed today to buy pullet starter to feed the rooster and explained to the lady why.... Anyways she said sold me antibiotics for him!! So I've given him some and hopefully he improves soon
Thank you guys for all your help!!!!!
Thanks guys I read on both and think it could be a respitory disease our stock feeds don't sell anything like that I've driven around and tried 7 different ones who all say to go to your vets, I'm going to call my vet when they open and ask where I can buy it since my vet doesn't do chickens...
I went outside today to let my hens and rooster out the coop and my rooster wasn't crowing, later this afternoon I noticed he was making noises similar to snoring... I went to check on him before he seems ok, he's eating and walking around but not doing his thing with the hens and isn't vocal at...
That might just be what it is!! He wasn't liked much by all the chooks when I brought him home and I never knew why, yes they were definitly doing the deed
I
I had a huge problem with mine doing that, and I really was worried about someone breaking it .. Long story short she still doesn't lay in the hen boxes she lays in the duck box..
Hopefully someone can tell you how to get yours to lay in the box
I tried moving her eggs, placing fake eggs...
