Im just going to say this, look, sorry, I did not know this offended you, but I wasn't really trying to spread it everywhere, I was just stating the facts I knew, and imo theres bits and other bobs with miscalculation and information, but its not entirely very wrong, but I support and appreciate...
Hi all,
I'm interested in hatching again after reading all the hatch alongs, super exciting times. :wee The chicks are super adorable and well-cared for!
I had several breeds off birds, but most of the time I just stuck with the 2 same breeds, a Sussex and a coturnix quail (and parrots).
Well...
Thanks! Im interested in Sussex, silkies and buff orpingtons from the list.
Also interterested in:
bantam cochin
white leghorn
ameraucana
are they known for going broody?
These two are males. All the rest are females, from what i see in the pictures. coturnixes male have a ginger brown chest, while females have whitish gray chests.
Males will also, (more commonly) have gray beaks, while females have pronounced pink noses and white/gray beaks.
Another great sign...
What do you raise them on? Same for us, just a few weeks ago they were still chicks, less than a year old, and we used a outdoor area, with pads and settups, but poo would get everywhere. How do you solve a good method?
I have 8 coturnix quails, 3 males and the rest are all females.
They lay at least 1 egg a day, and they wont go broody. I even setup mini nests, and nestsboxes for them, still no broodies.
also- will the females not accept their babies if i incubate them?
