I dusted them with GardStar garden and poultry dust. Wow, never would have considered the roosters might be causing the damage. Our roosters are only bantams, we don't have full sized ones and they most of the time have a hard time mounting the girls, the girls don't seem to be interested.
Hi there. I have 8 Red Sex Link hens whose feathers look like the pictures below. In late Feb through early March they turned 1 year old. I also have two roosters who are not showing any change in their feathers like the hens. I was thinking they were molting, since they turned a year old but...
Hi there,
I have an almost year old bantam rooster that has been for a few months limping or favoring his one leg. Not sure why, thought maybe one of our dogs got ahold of him and injured it. He doesn't seem in pain and still is very energetic. This morning I finally managed to catch him and...
I have a flock of 10 chickens. Temps get down in the teens at night and into the 30's and 40's during the days lately due to artic freeze. Just went out this morning and noticed one female RSL has lost feathers on back of neck and some on sides. I can see new feather shafts coming out of skin...

Hi! Our chickens enjoyed their first rainstorm today :) Thank God for the downpour today in NM with the 2 wildfires in the state, we really needed it. The chickens had a great time pecking at the damp ground and finding tons of bugs and worms. We'll see what tomorrow has in store.
Hi there! Here is a pic of my 3 month old Dark Brahma Bantam rooster "Little Foot." He has such a great personality, jumps up to get treats and is pretty tolerable of being held. My kids named him and he is definately many family members favorite in our flock :)
