I have read of people tying up a head of cabbage for their chickens as a treat/boredom fighter. My concern is how do you tie it up so that they don't get caught up in it and get injured?
Yep no fertile eggs, she has been been broody for close to three weeks now. I have tried taking her off the nest but she just goes back there. I did have golf balls in there and I took them out.
Thanks for the responses, yes the BR combs are turning redder, they dont squat for me, the one did for the roo though. I guess it is time to open up the nest boxes (closed them due to them sleeping in them).
I have 4 Barred Rock, 1 GLW, and 2 White Rock hens and 2 GLW roosters. They are all 19 weeks old and one of the roos mounted one of the Barred Rocks this evening. So how soon will start receiving those delicious treats? Haven't seen any yet.
Like the title says. I have a 4ft by 4ft brooder box how many can I raise in that amount of space? I don't want to build anything until I see how these go. Thanks
I work in the pest control industry. The best bait to use for mice is a piece of string tied to the trigger of the trap and trimmed so that is short enough so that it doesn't extend beyond the trap. Also any holes in the coop that are bigger that a dime need to be sealed or your problem will...
I work in the pest industry. here is how you need to get rid of rats. Traps are the safest around other animals, but first and foremost is exclusion, you need to find out where they are getting in and seal all openings the size of a quarter or bigger. Then trap them, you may have to experiment...
Rub it with a little olive oil and sprinkle a little lemon pepper on it mmmmmmmm. Be careful because it will be done quicker than with the skin on but enjoy!
