    If only I knew some famous examples of sole survivors to suggest as names. Since she's brave(to return to the yard with the dogs out) and everyone thought she died somewhere unknown, perhaps Amelia(for the famous aviator Amelia Earhart who went missing) would be a good name!

    They might try your run/coop for a brief period, but clearly they are looking for a more substantial food source, and will quickly move on from thirst and hunger as long as as the run and coop remain well kept as you're already clearly keeping it. Could be a population of weaker flies from that...

    oh, looks like I accidentally posted the jersey giant instead of the second barred rock! Either way, I'm glad to have some reassurance that some of you think I might have all the pullets I was supposed to! Delighted to hear that's still a possibility.

    My chickens have developed at different speeds, however, all of them display roo behavior and all of them are 'sexed pullets' One has clearly revealed himself to be a roo, the others also have suspiciously red combs and wattles. Here they are: Previously 'Eden', the 'Silver Laced Wyandotte'...

    yep. I'd say provide some form of grit free choice for them, and they'll pick it up as needed. All my chicks still love to snack on some pine flakes here and there...
