Chicken Straining to Poop (Warning: Graphic Pics)

Hi All I recently bought a creamy legbar pullet (2-3 month old) that unfortunately the seller did not take care of very well as it was missing tail feathers, had a bit of a prolapsed vent, and vent gleet when I received her. I’ve been treating the chicken with ACV water, probiotics and yogurt...

    Cuckoo Marans?

Found this pic on BYC of a Crested Olive Egger Pullet. Maybe that’s what I received?

    Cuckoo Marans?

Any ideas on what kind of breeds might be in this birds lineage?

    Cuckoo Marans?

Thanks for confirming. I can see the possibility of Legbar in the pullet, as she did sell me a Cream Legbar that actually looked like the pics.

    Cuckoo Marans?

Hello I just bought what was advertised on Craigslist as a cuckoo marans pullet. After doing some research, I think the particular chicken I bought might be a cuckoo marans mix. From pics I have researched online, I don’t think a pure cuckoo marans pullet would have the puffy feathers on its...

    Gender & Breed?

Hello This stray chicken made its way into our neighborhood and we’ve adopted it as no owner claimed it. I’m thinking it’s a game fowl pullet, but wanted another opinion. No eggs or crowing and it does look on the younger side.

Breed and Gender - 2 mixed seven week chicks

Here is an updated pic. The white one got more brown as it matured. Still beautiful coloring but looks different from when it began getting its plumage.

Breed and Gender - 2 mixed seven week chicks

Thankfully both chickens ended up being pullets. The buff has a grayish egg and the cream one has a greenish egg.

Breed and Gender - 2 mixed seven week chicks

I’ve been watching the buff one for a while now for any signs of being a cockerel. So far behavior is pullet-like and I haven’t seen any saddle feathers at 13 weeks. The comb was a little suspect at first but someone mentioned it is probably a modified pea comb. Crossing my fingers that the...

Breed and Gender - 2 mixed seven week chicks

Cool. Thanks for the information. I had never heard of the White Yokohama, but I see what you are talking about with the coloring. Here they are now at 13 weeks.

Thanks. Yes, the white one definitely turned out beautiful. Here are updated pics at 10 weeks.

Breed and Gender - 2 mixed seven week chicks

Updated pictures at 8 weeks as of today. I think they still both look like pullets as most have commented but have noticed some red leakage on the lighter ones wings. Can you have pullets with that kind of red leakage?

Buff Orpington roo x Easter Egger hen

Hello, The 2 chicks I hatched a couple months ago, I believe were the same cross of buff orpington/easter egger. I'm wondering if you still have these chickens and pictures of what they look like as adults?

Breed and Gender - 2 mixed seven week chicks

I’ve asked the neighbor who sold me the eggs about what breeds of chickens she has. She told me that she’ll ask her husband and get back to me. The buff one for sure is more difficult to identify gender.

Breed and Gender - 2 mixed seven week chicks

Thinking the buff one may be Orpington with Easter-egger since it has a pea comb and green legs? Not too sure about the breed(s) of the lighter one.
