lol Walk, you looking too? Yeah I was at the flea market, just a looking and I see this guy (this flea market is in a high farm area, abedsaviary? she lives right around there its ringgold VA) and well the guy and his nephews have these two big containers of chicks! So i ask what they are, and...
I so agree! I'd seen these little 5 week old chicks last year and they were so funky looking at that age but by 16 weeks they were gorgeous, and the roosters are absolutely HUGE, I love them, and now that I really am particularly looking for them i can't find them, and can't find the guy I got...
OKAY. I have been looking high and low for a year for some more dark brahma's i'd gotten a pair in a set of 10 brahma's early last year, and well my luck the hen dies at 12 weeks and the rooster was a bullie so he had to go....
i have 4 light brahma's at the moment and i want so badly to have...
I had gotten a few light and dark brahmas last year, but I only got 2 darks, well one was killed at 12 weeks (and it was a hen!!!) and the other turned out to be a rooster (a not nice rooster at that so he had to go)
I can NOT find any dark brahmas around here, so BYC'ers i'm looking for...
I have a silkieXSultan cross, who is a very broody hen, and looks identical to your original picture, except hardly any comb at all, but some very small waddles....If i took a guess I would say you have a Mister and not a misses.
very gorgeous though!
Okay so i am looking around on here on the quail forum, I got a good idea for building a pen big enough for them....I have them in a large tubberware tub like i use for a brooder for chicks, with a light on them since its kinda cool here the past few days, but a top opening syster is a no go...
I'm looking to get some black, blue, splash, or patridge silkies for myself and my neighbor is looking specifically for standard cochin and brahma pullets. just looking for 2 maybe 3 of each breed.
let me know if you have anything. Much appreciated.
LOL isn't that how it always is!!!! I know exactly how you feel. But no not anytime soon do I see heading that way. I tend to stay around my area and Durham and Danville only usually. But if for some reason i do have to head your way, i will try and shoot you a email

OMG mine are doing this. It started with one, then two they were sharing one box, and i was like 'oh well i'll let them sit' like a dummy i didn't mark them either, and i go to check hardly eggs in other usual laying spots...move the broodys and they go from the 6 eggs to piled up on...
I was given these little guys over the weekend and I just don't know what to do with them....They are cute but I just don't have anything to keep them in long term, and I'm not much on flighty birds, i prefer my chickens.
Will trade all 5 lil' quail for 1 or 2 hens or chicks of certain breeds...
no i dont have any pic's of my babies on a digi camera at moment, my teenage cousin is still stashing my camera, and i have yet to over there and DEMAND it, lol. I'll be getting it this week for sure though and take pic's and post!
Wow the daddy was a gorgeous thing.
The chick in question is very neat, i'd love to have one that looks like that, if she would keep the coloring which i know she wouldn't,she'll grow out of it, but still very pretty.
i don't know, if its got a comb like that at that age already, i'd say...
