Guinea & Chickens sharing a nesting box

Hmmm. That stinks. My guineas and chickens have all been raised together since chicks. My husband thinks that they do not know who is who. LOL. I hope to get at least a few chicks out of them. We are picking up 20 more guinea chicks and baby pullets at the end of the month. I was wondering if...

Guinea & Chickens sharing a nesting box

So yesterday I went out to gather the chicken eggs and leave the 9 guinea eggs, and I would have never thought it, but the guinea is sitting on the eggs in the nesting box. The same box that the Maran and Dom are sitting in too. So all 3 are now sharing the box and taking turns sitting on the...

    We Lost 3 Baby Chicks

3 of our babies were drowned because of all the rain we have had in East TN the past few days. I am heart broken over them. It included our tiniest chick that we named Thumbalena. :( We are going to get some more but I know these 3 will not be replaced. I'm praying that noone else has babies...

Our Guineas are awesome! We have raised them with our chickens so they will roost in the chicken coop at night. Today we checked on them and the female that we have has started laying eggs, in the nest box in the middle of the chicken eggs!!!!! I am so excited. I think we will let them sit on...

    Chicken Ethics

We eat ours. We give them the best possible life, and the most humane death possible. I think that is much better than the pumped up junk you get at the store. I like to know where my food comes from and that it was humanely raised.

Hi, my family moved to TN a little over a year ago. We have a few different breeds of chickens, marans, barred rock, doms, cornish rocks, golden comets, black Australorps, Easter Eggers and we also have some guineas. We raise pigs, and bison. I am a US Air Force Vet and my husband is currently...
