Yeah! Thank you AZKat, hopefully there are more of us like you! I'll be writing my emails this week! My husband pointed out that the line about chickens seems out of place.. and it's fishy that we only know one person to receive the letter (and they have a much larger...
Did anyone get a letter talking about a proposed new law that will make it legal to have a horse in a small yard, but make chickens illegal?!? My Father-In-Law received one and is going to get me a copy today.. once I get it I'll post specifics here.
I cannot find any information about it...

They haven't been laying more than an egg every few days for the last few months! (We used to get 5 eggs a day, every day!) A...
I've got a year old hen acting sluggish. I found her on her roost this morning (my other 3 were running around happily). She barely made it down the ladder and almost passed out when I bent down to check her out.
I've separated her & put her in the shade with a bowl of food and a bowl of ice...
I've got 4 hens who used to give me an egg each, every day. Until it got over 105 here in AZ. Then, NOTHING!
The stats:

When my girls were younger, they'd scare off the crows, pigeons and doves in our yard..
but now they let them come in their coop to eat their leftovers!
I'm thinking about putting a layer of smaller mesh over the chicken wire to keep the foreign birds out!
I'm interested to see how this goes, I hope your chicken recovers!!!
Just last night my DH found a girl who didn't go up to roost.. she was just sleeping by the door of the coop. He wasn't worried, but mentioned it to me. I put her in a separate coop with water. She was too week to stand...

I'm so glad to hear that this is a documented method.. I've done this from the start with my girls (one was particularly flighty & combative).. and I got the same result. The squat when approached!

Will the Repel-a-sprays upset the chickens if I put it around the outide of their coop? We've got a huge squirrel who just discovered our coop.
Thanks!

Here's Mesa's rule:
You may have up to 10 chickens on the first one-half acre or less provided any enclosure is at least 40 feet from any neighboring residence, any coop is at least 75 feet from any other residence, it is kept sanitary and they are not allowed to run loose or create a noise...
We got our 5 red stars two weeks ago and they sure are growing fast! We can see their beautiful red feathers coming all over.
I'm amazed at the variety of personality! Sugar won't let me move anything around in the brooder because she'll jump onto my hand and crawl up my arm to be cuddled...
