Hi, fellow North Dakotans! I'm looking for blue egg layers and for sale in the area. Closer to Minot or Bismarck would be best. Thanks!

Diffences Between EEs, Ameraucanas, and Araucanas

So I guess if an Ameraucana doesn't breed true 50% of the time it becomes an Easter Egger. And as you said, only certain colors breed true. So you CAN cross Ameraucanas and get an Easter Egger. To me, that means they aren't really a breed, and makes me wonder how the breed continues on...but we...

Diffences Between EEs, Ameraucanas, and Araucanas

I thought one of the things that makes Ameraucanas a breed is that they breed true, while EE's don't. I better do some more reading.

Thank you to both of you! Could you possibly point me to a photo of a standard brown red?

Diffences Between EEs, Ameraucanas, and Araucanas

Hi all! I would love to have the opinion of you good people...is this an Ameraucana or EE? I ordered EE's and a rare mix, so I was never sure if some were Ameraucanas that came in the rare breed mix or not. Do Ameraucanas ever have green legs? Or is that a result of mixing slate and yellow legs?

Can Easter Eggers be pure white or buff colored?

Thanks for sharing pics of your pretty ladies. I'm so excited to collect the first eggs from my hens...would like to get a few cream legbars also.

Can Easter Eggers be pure white or buff colored?

Thanks guys! I guess this means that all my EE's survived because I ordered 6 and the other 9 were "assorted rare breeds". I think that buff EE is so pretty.

Can Easter Eggers be pure white or buff colored?

I started my flock almost 8 weeks ago, bought 15 chicks + an extra free one through the mail, lost 4 over the next few days, so now I'm left with a dozen hens. I'm pretty sure I have the following: 2 Egyptian Fayoumis 3 Polish, two silver laced, one white crested black 1 Delaware 2 Easter...

Getting back to my roots in North Dakota.

Hi everyone, I'm just starting out my flock on our acreage in ND. I lived on a farm back home in Canada for quite a few years as a kid and had lots of experience with farm animals, including chickens. I was a city girl for many years after that. This is the first time I've had any animals, other...
