I currently have a pair of Jungle Fowl, Ameracuana, and Cochin mix chickens in need of a new home. They are super handle-able and people friendly. We hand raised them after finding a rat snake eating the eggs in the nest as they were hatching, but it's time for them to go to someone else's flock...
I’m raising four baby geese, they all hatched at different times. My two oldest imprinted pretty well on me I thought, but are still reliant on eachother as siblings. (I can’t say much for the other two yet as they just hatched in the last few days!) They follow me around from inside the cage...
Im unsure the day as the goose had been sitting on them for a while before I collected them. I turn them 3 times daily, but stopped turning them yesterday. Temp is 99.5 and humidity is in the 60s. We’ve had a difficult time with the humidity as our little above garage farm apartment has terrible...
Two of my goose eggs (collected at the same time) have dips in their air sacs? Last time I candled was a few days ago and veins were visible with movement in both eggs. I stopped turning just today and noticed the dips in each air sacs. They should be hatching soon I believe, as they’re solidly...
Hey all, I just had a jungle fowl egg explode in my incubator 🤢 I heard it right away and immediately cleaned it up, but it did get on a few other eggs, which I also wiped off immediately. I was wondering if this is a certain death sentence for my unhatched chicks? Thanks in advance everyone.
I have more in there, but they were from different lays. I’ve had a few start oozing and go bad over the course of my incubation so I’m terrified I’ll lose the rest :( I’ve only got about 4-5 left that I think are healthy. The next ones should be hatching Tuesday-Wednesday.
I’ve had about three goose eggs that have started foaming over the time I’ve been incubating and two that look mucky inside, but have not foamed or started oozing. I know it usually means the egg was laid with bacteria in the egg that grows and kills the chick, but was there nothing at all I...
It also seems maybe tired now? It’s peeping very quietly and just laying curled. He did that a bit ago too but then resumed kicking around a little while later. And still can’t hold his head up very well :( is that normal for goslings?
The eye is not looking better, but the yolk is mostly absorbed. It still has a bit to go. I gave it a bit of water and I think it drank some, but it is not able to hold its head up quite yet. It’s not yet 24 hrs old either, though, so I don’t know if it not being able to hold its head up yet is...
