I get a dozen eggs from 14 hens daily....all through winter. I'm a newbie this year and was told they "lay off" without supplemental light and heat...I guess my girls never got the memo..lol I have had to figure out brand new ways to use em up....hubby happy with the extra cooking and baking...
Ok there's pics...below zero 3 different days so far. Coop is partially insulated (totally above roost) and windows are semi covered to prevent drafts (?) Two vents are on east and west soffit. Should I just put more between beams shown or do something different? Coop temp says 30ish today...
Thank you mary for your response. I will try to get pics of inside and outside coop tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully that will help me get detailed help as I am a newbie and may be keeping it too tight thinking I'm helping them.

Hi all! Thanks for the welcome! My friends knocked over their waterer some how 2 days in a row. It's a closed 1 gal plastic jug with screw on water tray. It's cold here already so I can't have wetness in the coop. Looking for a good heated one that also hangs..any ideas? Thanks in advance
