    Cloth hardware installation.

So I'm just about wrapping up my hardware installation. I'm curious to hear how you installed yours around windows and openings. I only used screws and washers spaced tight together. Almost seems like overkill. I'm thinking about removing quite a few and putting wood trim around the edges of...

    Ducklings Outside?

Our ducklings are 4 weeks and our avg temps are mid 60s. We have brought them outside a bunch and they love it! They are cayugas so if the sun is out they stay quite warm!

    Duck treats!

I wasn't aware somewhat watery poop is normal. Thank you! I will pump the breaks on the mealworms. It's so hard though! They love em so much!

    Duck treats!

Yeah I've been thinking that. Thank you for confirming. Is there a limit on the amount of greens they can consume? That seems like a more healthy option.

    Duck treats!

Hello fellow duck people! I've got one quick question. How much is too much mealworms? My ducks have diarrhea without any other symptoms. We probably give them mealworms 4-6 times a day, a couple handfuls. Could this be the reason for the liquid poos?

Water and feed in the coop for ducks? Poll

Thanks for the replies! So far it seems there really isn't a right or wrong way to do it. It's basically circumstantial based on your coop set up, your yard/run size, climate, and predator situation. Were planning on free ranging for the time being because we might be buying a new house in a...

Water and feed in the coop for ducks? Poll

Hey guys! I'm trying to decide whether or not to provide food and water in the coop or not. I have an idea how I would mitigate the mess and keep it dry in there. I'm considering the situation considering the seasons as well as I live in Wisconsin! I would much appreciate you input!

    Wasps in duck coop

If it's still a small nest get a shot vac with an extension and suck them all up! Then stuff some papertowel in the exhaust hole and the suction end to stop them from coming out. Make sure you do it fast! Or have someone else do it that's not allergic! If it's a large nest I would get...

    Flying Cayugas?!

So most everywhere on the internet says that cayugas cannot fly. I recently happened upon this small paperback book about cayugas specifically. It says that cayugas have no problem flying and that their wings need to be clipped! Can anyone confirm or deny this?

Duck run with fenced in backyard?

Yeah getting them water is going to be hard in the dead of winter. They sure wont be getting in the kiddy pool everyday.

Duck run with fenced in backyard?

Thanks I'm glad to be a part of this community! I'm about halfway done with their coop! Its 4'x8' and will be totally secure for them. I appreciate the advice. This will save me a ton of work!
