    I am sorry, we just had one hatch that had a belly as big as the egg, and you could see through the belly. It died. I felt pretty crappy, this is the part that really sucks.

    Thanks for the info! We have already had to wipe a little fuzzy butt, and still keeping an eye on it. They are eating and drinking, so I am happy about that.

    Some of them are crusty. They feel dry, but look wet, and when you feel them its hard and crusty feeling. I guess it is after birth goop.

    Now that my eggs are hatching, what can I expect over the first couple of days? How much energy should they be showing?

    Okay, so this is the first time we have incubated any eggs or let a hen sit on any. We have one Mottled Houdan under the hen and 2 more Houdans and 3 White Crested Polish in the incubator. It is a homemade incubator and although I am confident I can do things I had never done this before...

    Today is hatch day 21

    We are on day 20 and no pips. I am feeling very anxious, and trying to stay away from our bator. This is our first hatch too. Hope all goes well!

    So if it is at 80 is that to high, due to when the eggs hatch the humidity will raise again.

    My humidity has been 54% , we have it up to 67%, is that high enough? Also, there is condensation on the glass, is that a problem? Thanks for any input.

    Chixie, You should not get a bator. Once you start, you can't stop. It is too addicting.
