Hi there. My metal waterers keep getting holes. My plastic tub of water keeps getting nasty. What watering system do you recommend? I'm going to keep it inside the coop I think so that it won't get gross, but definitely up for suggestions. We have 17 hens so not sure how big it needs to be. Thanks!
Hi there. I believe instead of leghorns, I got meat birds. Very thick legs, grew super fast, anyway, can I keep them for laying? I'm reading mixed reviews. Also, can I put them with my other hens who are a year old. These are 6 weeks and look almost full grown!
Thanks!!
We, by mistake of the store, were given broilers instead of leghorns. Will the broilers give eggs too? Can I put them with my other hens? Or is it better to rehome them to someone who processes chicken for meat?
Thanks, everyone. It wasn't so obvious to me as there's hardly any red in his face.
Now, what to do? I've never had one so my older girls will have no idea whats going on. Should I keep him? We had one a long time ago but gave him away because he was beating up on them and we really have no use...

I'm not really sure where to post this but I'll try here...
I think I may have a rooster, just 4 months old, are you able to tell? I can't get a pic of her right now because she runs everytime
i get close. She does have a feathery tail but NO red on her face. I think she started "talking"...
Hi. I have 7 4-year-old hens in a coop currently. I have 3 newbies in a large brooder box in my garage. They are 2 months old and getting big. My husband is in the process of building a new coop. The old one is kind of beat up and really dirty! We built it in a place that doesn't get much sun so...
This is so good to know! She does isolate herself in the backyard, in really weird spots too! but I figure nature will take its course. I don't want to start getting into poking her with a needle, in possibly the wrong place and maybe even causing an infection. This post makes me feel better...
