We have 2 week old chickies and I’ve noticed that all of our RIR’s have started getting their wing and tail feather. On the other hand our daughters Dark Brahma seems much smaller and still has most of her “baby fluff” ... is this normal? I’m sure all breeds develop at their own pace - but...

I thought the VERY same thing when we brought our new chicks home - bright green slime all over the place!! :sick It passed in the first couple of days - if not that night when they started eating their chick feed. :D

Thank you all!! When I got home I went out to our yard and shifted some dirt onto a paper plate (hubby thought I was crazy for a minute) I put a couple of small twigs on it and put it at the end of our brooder box - shortly after I sat it down I already had two brave girls scratching around...

Okay - this is a spin off question this morning from another question I had about my 4 day old RIR chicks. We had them vaccinated at the hatchery for Cocci and Marek's - because neither sounded like anything I wanted my girls to catch. I knew from reading articles here on BYC that I shouldn't...

They were - we had them vaccinated for both cocci and marek's ... but I didn't know anything about a "quarantin" period!!!! :( the hatchery never said anything - except that I read here on BYC NOT to feed them medicated feed. Should I NOT be doing some things???? NOW I'M REALLY WORRIED!!! :barnie
