Can anyone take a look at my pics and help me figure out their sex? They are all 6 weeks old. 2 of the ones with the bigger combs have been fighting since 2 weeks old..I only want one rooster so I’m trying to decide if I need to rehome some roosters...I put red arrows pointing to the 2 mean...
Yes, I think we’re going to try again with local eggs and during the summer/fall when the humidity isn’t so high here. And possibly even not so dark of eggs that way I can candle as well!
I took him to the vet to be euthanized. He couldn’t use the left side of his body and still wasn’t able to stand...and more and more red gut/stuff was coming out of his umbilical area. I took him yesterday afternoon. Poor little fella. I feel horrible for my daughter..she’s been looking...
He was born with his yolk sac still attached. I just picked him up and noticed the red stuff popping out on the left side. Is it his guts? What should I do?!
He’s still alive! He’s been trying To learn to walk and flopping himself all over his brooder. I’ve been trying to get his sac to dry out but he’s too wild and I’m afraid he’s going to rip it off so I’ve been carrying him around in my shirt when he’s awake and putting him in the brooder to...
Okay, so I made him a little diaper 😬 he’s flipping all round and I was afraid he’d ripped out his yolk sac. I cut a paper towel got it a little damp and put some polysporin down so sac wouldn't stick and wrapped it around him like a diaper. I wrapped him in a sock and put him in a cup with...
I took some warm water and removed the sticky stuff off his wings and back and put him back in the incubator. He can’t move his head cause of the kink in his neck.
I brought him out on a towel to work on him some more and he flipped out of his shell. I’ve included pics. He’s covered in really sticky stuff that has his wings crusted down. It’s like dried paste and he can’t move his wing. His neck is stuck in bend.
Okay so I’m working on his shell again. The bottom section has come off and I can see a tiny yolk sac about the size of a pea. There is also green slimy stuff down by his butt! Did he poop? And should the yolk sac be completely absorbed?
I was never able to see anything. However, I just went to Costco and got a 1000 lumen flashlight so I’m going to try to use that to candle any eggs that don’t hatch...just to see if it will work. As of this morning nothing out of the other eggs. today at 11:00 is day 22. Do I’m just trying to...
Well he’s in the incubator still chirping. I pulled off a little more shell and there are still a lot of vessels. The top of the egg seems to have quite a few and the bottom of the egg has none...I put him back in and will check in another couple hours.
I applied some ointment and there are still little red purple vessels in the membrane. I put him back in and will try again in the morning. Thanks for your response! And when you get the chance...if I pull back some membrane and it bleeds...how long before I should try again?
