Purple membrane under shell?

I brought him out on a towel to work on him some more and he flipped out of his shell. I’ve included pics. He’s covered in really sticky stuff that has his wings crusted down. It’s like dried paste and he can’t move his wing. His neck is stuck in bend.

I took some warm water and removed the sticky stuff off his wings and back and put him back in the incubator. He can’t move his head cause of the kink in his neck.

Okay, so I made him a little diaper 😬 he’s flipping all round and I was afraid he’d ripped out his yolk sac. I cut a paper towel got it a little damp and put some polysporin down so sac wouldn't stick and wrapped it around him like a diaper. I wrapped him in a sock and put him in a cup with his neck supported up straight. The cup is sitting in front of a heat lamp and temp is reading 97 degrees. Let me know if you think I did anything wrong.

I have fingers crossed for you! I think you did right by washing the sticky stuff off so that he could move. I hope he warms up and dries off soon. I hope that you notice him moving the neck and limbs a bit better too. Fingers crossed for you!

Good luck with your little one! Just make sure it doesn't get overheated while it's in the container under the heat lamp. If there is still membrane stuck to the chick you may need to try washing it gently or sometimes just putting some Vaseline on it and allowing it to remoisten the membrane is will peel right off. I have my fingers crossed!

He’s still alive! He’s been trying To learn to walk and flopping himself all over his brooder. I’ve been trying to get his sac to dry out but he’s too wild and I’m afraid he’s going to rip it off so I’ve been carrying him around in my shirt when he’s awake and putting him in the brooder to sleep. Here he’s asleep cuddling me on the bean bag lol. Hopefully he continues to get stronger. His feet don’t go out straight so I think I’m going to do the band aid hack tomorrow morning. Thanks for all the advice!

Try and keep that moist, apply antibacterial ointment. It is the umbilicus and needs to absorb the yolk. Hopefully it will all absorb! Keep us posted!

I just noticed this!! Are these his guts/intestines?

Hopefully he will finish absorbing everything. How long has it been since hatch? Small hernias can sometime heal over and be ok but this looks pretty significant and if you're seeing intestines that's not a good sign...
