    After about 3 months they get 'thicker' in the shell but they are good for at least six months.

    About another month if not sooner. It depends on how much light they get in their eye before the weather cools down.

    Chickens purring????

    Mine purr too...I also have an African grey that coos or purrs. I like to talk to them doing the "Awk, awk, awk" sound. They all 'awk' back. So we walk around the chicken yard, saying, AWK, awk, AWK, awkkk aaawk"!

    Day old chick ate scrambled egg! Panic? **UPDATE - sick chick HELP!**

    Chickens love to eat chicken more than anything. Put a baked chicken carcass in there and they will pick it clean. Scrambled eggs is one of the best foods for little chicks that aren't very strong....I mean after all, they just absorbed one.

    Use a different breeder and get a thermometer to check the heat situation. Feed starter never laying feed.
