I came here some weeks ago asking about gender, of course, and was told to wait a few weeks until they mature some. The babies are now 6 weeks and fairly feathered so help a girl out. Who’s a roo, who’s an egg layer?
I think it was Easter Egger or Americana rooster (they come in so many colors ) The people selling the chicks were very, very foreign and lacked most proper English so I can see why there may have been confusion. I guess time will tell!
After looking further at the pictures the man had posted on Craigslist. It looks like he has an Aracauna rooster with RIRs and one aracauna hen. He definitely didn’t have any Cornish cross (thankfully) I’m putting my money on some kind of possible RIR/Aracauna mix. Silly me.
I got them from someone off of Craigslist (risky right). He even showed me the hen which was definitely a Rhode Island Red but I noticed the rooster was white. Thank you guys!

Sounds like a raccoon or possum. They’re both excellent climbers and can scale right over a fence. I’d be careful because they will go after your hens if they’re feeling up for a fight.
