Thank you. I have a friend who sells chickens at First Monday in Canton, TX. I mentioned once I’d like a turkey and he called me Thursday to say he had one for me. I had no idea what a bourbon red turkey looked like but he really is pretty. My chickens just stare at him like “Wow. What are you?”

If his face is blue, it means he’s happy. It turns pale when he’s stressed or angry.

Look at this sweet Bourbon Red Tom turkey we got on Thursday.

I have 4 cats that have been dumped near our farm in the last few months. None of them ever bother my free range chickens. One did look at the chickens once probably wondering what they were 😜

I guess if you can’t dig in it easily then neither can the predators 😀

They will briefly come out for food/water and today they came out for awhile when I was painting the coop. They seem better today.

So far my new BR’s won’t come out from under the coop. Maybe they’re still stressed from being sold. I can’t even get a picture of them yet. I’ll keep you posted.

One of my LO has different looking feathers. They look almost lacey or something. My others look like Hattie. They are so quiet and laid back. I just got 3 Barred Rock hens yesterday so I’m looking forward to seeing their personalities. Will be getting 7 Easter Eggers and 6 guineas in a few...

That’s what I thought but was talking to a chicken enthusiast today and he told me the colors can vary. Maybe he meant one EE might lay blue eggs and another pink eggs but that’s not what he said. Thanks for the response.

Do EE hens always lay the same color egg each time or do they sometimes lay blue then green , etc?

So sorry that happened. It’s always so hard to lose a chicken. At least it is for me
