Thanks everyone! How long does Marek's usually take to spread? I really need to sell or give away some of my chickens and I want to be really sure I am not being irresponsible.
She is not any worse than when I first posted. She seems to see movements (me, when I enter the cage) from a distance, but not up close. I can put my hand near either side of her head and she will not move or startle like most chickens. None of the other chickens have become ill. The four in...
Hello,
I have a chicken who appears to be blind, about 8 weeks old. Symptoms developed about 10 days ago. Other than a pale comb I don't see any other symptoms. The other 3 chickens she is currently with don't have any signs of illness. I have given "her" electrolytes and scrambled and or...
I actually don't remember, but it was a breed I was familiar with, or had before, and this one doesn't look like any of my others. Just curious. I have one other rooster that came with him that looks identical.

I have 9 hens in a batch with a roo. 5 are 27 weeks old, the other 4 are 25 weeks old. Some of them started laying appx Sept 1st. I have never had more than 5 eggs in one day. The egg colors are varied, but if I examine them closely I would say possibly 6 different shades. Moms were Rhode...

I have a broody who left new nest, and went back to her old (empty) one after only 36 hours. Is it safe to eat those eggs? She wandered around for 4 hours before going back to the old nest. I am going to make some improvements to her new nest and try again with fewer eggs.
I (think) I have been here before, but like many of you, I have forgotten my username and had to reregister.
I first got chickens last fall. I currently have a roo, and 9 hens. My roo is some sort of chicken mutt. He looks a bit like a leghorn cross to me. My girls are: 1 rhode island red, 1...
