Ok got some flock feeder and a 10lb bag of crumbles to mix in. I also got a new better feeder. We will see in the morning!! They did begin to eat out of it this evening!! I definitely added mealworms to tempt. LOL
My chicks are 9 weeks old and I am almost done with a bag of chick food, I don't want to buy another since it only comes in 50lb bags. I am told at 11 weeks I can give them regular chicken feed. But for the time being can I get another brand that comes in a smaller bag? I have been feeding...
I live in NH, USA. Got the Australorps because of their great egg laying ability. They are so pretty and said to grow larger than most other chickens. Not in it for the size but the eggs. I love to hang out with them.
I have 13 of these black australorps they are the Australorp Gang that lives in Chick-Mahal. So far my guess is I have 12 ladies and one boy but at 9 weeks old still not 100%. No visible signs that there is a boy but one used to make strange noises and suddenly no longer does that. Time will...
Had to anchor down the fencing for under the coop access becuase they found a way to get in there. LOL Now it is secure and no access. Twice I found at least one of them in there but of course they could not get out on their own. LOL
So next dilemma.
My coop is raised and I have fenced around it so they can not geet under there, I was thinking they might use that as their safe place instead. But so far 2 nights they are good. But when can I remove the fencing so they can go under the coop again? There is great grass under...
OMG, today I let the chickens out of the coop after being in there for a whole week. Today I cleaned out that smelly coop and re-set the door opening to manual.
Door was set to close at 9pm EST and well it did with all my babies inside. The Australorp Gang has learned their safe place!!
Thanks...
