All good here. My flock of 13 hens is aging nicely. The youngest are 3 years old and the oldest is 8. They are all still laying except for a 2 hens who probably have something major going on. Vet says likely cancer but they are still doing everything else that chickens do and seem happy so far...

Thank you for your reply. I suspect the same. I’ll give a course of amoxicillin because it can’t really hurt. She was recently wormed so no issues there. I think you confirmed what I already suspected and truly appreciate the second opinion. 🙏

Thank you so much. It makes sense. I’m guessing she has a piece of straw stuck in there. I don’t normally use straw but put some in yesterday. The chickens have been scratching in it for something to do since they’re not going outside in the snow. I’ll check her out and see how post her status...
