    I got a SLW roo. I never saw the place (while ordering) that said I would get a free chick. That's nice and all- but I didn't want a roo!! Now I have to figure out what to do with him. We thought he snuck in the box. :/ I should learn to read all the fine print I guess.

    Thank you for responding! I ordered them from Murray McMurray hatchery. I ordered 15- and then that extra SLW roo must have snuck in the box! Someone on another thread told me the SLW was poorly bred so I started wondering if my BR girls were normal!!

    Just concerned that my BR hens aren't all BR hens. Wanted to get other input on our chickens! (I know there's a SLW roo in there also) They are 15 weeks old. None are crowing that we know of... None are laying. I know the pics aren't great- but any thoughts will be good to know!

    When I look at the silver laced Wyandotte and the silver laced Cochin- they both look like her!! If I can post pics of her from a few weeks ago - I will.

    We ordered 15 barred rock hens and this little chick was also in the box. We guessed a black austrolorp when she was a few days old. Now that her feathers have grown in - we don't know what she is! Splash? She seems to be a bully to the rest of our sweet BR hens!! Thanks for any help!
