I never thought of trying gatorade. I will try him with some of that. There isn't any crusting around his nostrils. We do have a pack of electrolytes. It has been pretty hot here the last couple of days. Thanks much for the responses! I will try your suggestions.
I noticed this morning that one of my two-week old chicks is breathing harder than the rest. He seems to get tired out quick and lays down and doesn't really want to get up. The rest seem fine. Any ideas? The breed on this one is a Cornish Roaster. Thanks!
It will be a week Sunday that they have been on the sugar water. I never thought that could do it. No more sugar water for them. That is exactly what they acted like was "crazy." Thanks!!

I grew up butchering chickens. We always used a block of wood and an axe, it's quick. I don't think I could do it if I had to wring their necks and cut their throats. I would opt out, I think. I know there is more blood with using an axe, but it is much better and quick for the chicken, I am...
