What is the best treatment for Salpingitis infection?

She walks fine (she keeps her head pulled in a bit), eats and drinks and runs out into the chicken yard with everyone. She’s still talkative and skinny. She seems to have plateaued after the Penicillin injections. She has not roosted all week and sleeps in one of the floor nesting boxes. It’s...

What is the best treatment for Salpingitis infection?

I just got done palpating her abdomen and I don’t think there is hope for her. She has an egg size hard lump right where an egg would be ready to be laid. She’s molting so not laying, not possible it’s an egg. I don’t think there is hope unless she can clear the lash egg still inside. 🥺 thanks...

What is the best treatment for Salpingitis infection?

I wish I caught it earlier. She is also molting so I thought she just had a case of the molting blues.🥺

What is the best treatment for Salpingitis infection?

I had a hen pass a lash egg on the poop board and I wasn’t sure exactly who. Unfortunately I think I’ve identified her and I’d like to try and save her if possible. She’s a young hen and the best daughter out of my favorite old cock that I just lost. All I had on hand was Penicillin and I’ve...

Need necropsy ID help *GRAPHIC PICTURES*

It’s open abdomen. Chicken on his back. I cut the keel out and opened up the rib cage. Vent is at the bottom middle of picture. I’ve opened quite a few chickens and it looked like bubbly growths up and down the spine. It wasn’t just one spot, it was multiple areas.

Just need confirming, are these darker red growths on the spine are cancer?

    Crop issue in old cock

His crop feels like a balloon filled to the brim with maybe with dried rice and beans. It’s pretty hard but I can leave an imprint in it if pressed. It’s huge though. And pear shaped, not round like normal. It’s been large like this maybe a week-week and a half. It did go down some briefly but...

    Crop issue in old cock

Frankie is an 8 yr old large Blue Wheaten Ameraucana About a month ago I noticed he had really soft stool. Like chicken poop color but cow pie consistency. I have treated for external parasites (Elector PSP a couple months ago) and internal parasites (Valbazen 2weeks ago) recently, his crop is...

Don’t want to be a “Bad Egg” WWYD?

I’ve hemmed and hawed and decided to just grow them out myself. They are a week or 2 away now from being able to sex them. My first 2 batches of chicks I ended up with three quarters of them male so my brooder has cleared out enough to grow them out a bit. Thanks everyone for your thoughts!

Don’t want to be a “Bad Egg” WWYD?

Our locally owned feed store is well stocked with chicks. We do have an auction in the neighboring town I could list them with in a pinch. They have 2 auctions for poultry a week. One in person and one online. 🤔

Don’t want to be a “Bad Egg” WWYD?

Good points. I’ll implement some of those suggestions if I decide to sell any more. I really dislike dealing with flaky people.

Don’t want to be a “Bad Egg” WWYD?

I don’t have anyone lined up. I had someone lined up for the other 9 but they are MIA too. My ad says pending, I’ll just update it as available again. If they are serious I guess they can contact me again. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Don’t want to be a “Bad Egg” WWYD?

Here’s the scenario, What would you do? I normally don’t hatch chicks just to sell if I don’t already have someone lined up to buy the chicks. This year, I hatched a few extra Olive Egger chicks and instead of growing them out myself, my brooder is busting at the seems so decided to make a...

    Favorite hose nozzle???

What’s your favorite hose nozzle for everything around the farm? Filling waterers, cleaning equipment, washing boots, dogs, cars, watering plants… etc. I’ve literally bought a new one every season last year and I’m DONE getting soaked trying to fill the waterers with broken hose nozzles. Bonus...
