Hi all! I have a sick girl and the dr says we can't eat her eggs for a month after her medicine is done. Is there a way to mark her eggs? I was thinking food coloring around her vent.
Would that work?
What do you all think?
hi all! i have a 2 year old golden comet that is acting lethargic. today she would find a place to lay and be by herself as opposed to running around with the rest of the girls. but when there is food, she comes running. i checked her and she's not egg bound.
what could be wrong?
so, i have to do something to them before i can cook them? we have a 50lb bag of crimped oats already!!!!
my hubby told me i could make "porridge" for them from the crimped oats. i have been making them oatmeal every am and he wants to save some money!!!
i have a co-worker who has a hen and has asked me i would like to "have" her hen. i think she might not be very smart "chicken wise" and i would love to take the poor hen off her hands. but..................i have an existing flock of 11 girls and i've been told it is difficult to bring in ONE...
i've searched and searched here on BYC and i have found lots of threads on crimped oats, but NONE that tell me how to prepare it to feed to my girls!!!
can anyone help?????

My quail is good as new! after a week inside and us taking care of his wound and spoiling him with mealworms, we were able to take him back outside this weekend!
thank you, both, for all your help!!!
thanks for your reply!! we have taken him out and are keeping him in the house. we have washed it out and put some betadine on it! we are going to keep an eye on him. how long should i keep him away from the others?
i appreciate your help!!
my husband was checking on the quail this evening, one was walking funny, so he picked it up and found this. the only thing i can think that would have caused this injury is the plastic ring he has placed around the boys legs. could the ring have caused this? if not, what could have caused...
this is my first egg from one of my americauna's!! so exciting!! i'm hoping her eggs will get bigger, but if they don't, oh well! i'll be excited to just get them!!!
