    I got 9 eggs from 10 hens. We have been getting 7-9 a day, 10 every once in a while.

    Are you still waiting for your 1st egg?

    I am. I have 10 girls 22-23 weeks, 6 different breeds-and NOTHING!!! I love my girls, but I want them to be more than ornamental. I've had egg song, squatting, beet red comb/wattle, etc. and still no eggs. Lights, golf balls in the nests, nice roomy coop, etc. It has to be soon, right?

    Egg Dreams?

    Does anybody have egg dreams? I'm still waiting for my first egg, but I had the strangest dream: I hard boiled their first egg, and it looked just like a normal egg, but when I peeled it, it was metallic and sparkly and beautiful.

    Stories about your intelligent chickens/breeds that seem smarter

    My 10 girls are only 7-9 weeks old, but they are pretty different. I've got 6 different breeds and the Rhode Island Reds catch on to everything fastest, with the Buff Orpingtons a close second.
